I sculpted this sculpture for 21 years, longer than any other sculpture so far. When I first entered a Hospital on my rotation as a medical student I was overwhelmed by a deep sense of fear and my helplessness to deal with the very ill people that I encountered. An image appeared in my head illustrating the state of mind that I carried for many years. I attempted to sculpt it a few times, but it did not seem to encapsulate my true vision, until one day I just knew how to finish it.
